Anoushka Shankar

Anoushka Shakar, one of the American and British sitarist. She was also the youngest and first woman to receive the British House of Commons Award. Anoushka Sitar Shankar was an Indian young sitar star. She is a student as well as sister of Ravi Shankar. She spent her childhood bouncing back and forth from London and New Delhi. The first time she performed was on stage in New Delhi when she was just 13 years old. Then, in Encinitas CA she attended high school and graduated with distinction in 1999. Her career as a recorder and performer is quite impressive, in spite of her young age. She is often seen performing with her dad and has performed with him for many years. The first album she released as a solo artist, Anourag, was released in 1998. The Grammy Award-winning live at Carnegie Hall was released two years following her debut solo album. Because she has performed on every major stage in all over the globe, her performance career is extensive. Anoushka Shankar's career is not only limited to performing in music. In 2002, she wrote the book Bapi The Love of My Live this is a pictorial biography which is a tribute to her father Ravi Shankar. She's also been in the role of. Anoushka was born in England however, she spent the majority of her growing up split between London in the UK and Delhi. She then moved to California and enrolled in high school. Anoushka Shankar began her musical studies when she was nine. A few years later, she made her sitar debut in Delhi for her father's 70th birthday celebration. Anoushka, who accompanied her father throughout his global tour, gained an impressive number of experiences. When she was in her teens, she performed in Carnegie Hall as part of Peter Gabriel's WOMAD as well as recorded with George Harrison.
