When she was awarded the Fine Arts Talent Scholarship, she attended York University and earned a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in the year 2000. Over the past 20 years that followed, Brugel has been offered roles in more than 60 productions across both small and large screens, attracting the greatest attention when she landed the character as Rita on the award-winning series The Handmaid's Tale (pictured below). Brugel is the only Canadian actor in the season 1 and was only seen at times.
